Happy Wednesday and happy August, my peeps! This summer flew by in a certain sense but also seemed long at the same time! I have enjoyed this summer reading challenge and think I will continue it even after summer is over.
So, if you caught my JUNE SUMMER READING and my JULY SUMMER READING posts, this is a followup to that and it includes the books that I plan to read this month. We have one more small trip planned where I hope to have time to just sit and read, so I’m thinking maybe I’ll get through a book or two on that trip! I find it so much easier to read when on vacation because when I’m home, I feel like I should be working or doing something around the house instead of enjoying a book! Ha!
Here is what I plan to read this month…
Truly Madly Guilty by Liane Moriarty- I loved What Alice Forgot so much. There is no doubt that I will love this one of her books, too!
The Good Girl by Mary Kubica- I got tons of recommendations for this book on an Instagram post last month! Can’t wait to dive into this one!
Into The Water by Paula Hawkins- This was another highly recommended book! Super excited to read this one! I loved The Girl on The Train, so I am excited to read another great book by this author!
The Husband’s Secret by Liane Moriarty- Again, I love this author, so I figured this would be a great one. My mom read it last month and raved about it!
What I read in JULY…
In a Dark, Dark Wood by Ruth Ware- I loved The Woman in Cabin 10 by the same author, so I knew this would be a good one! I loved it and read it very quickly. It is the perfect vacation read. I couldn’t put it down!
What Alice Forgot by Liane Moriarty- I loved this one! It took me a little bit to get into it, but once I started it, I couldn’t put it down. It really was a great story and I loved the ending!
The Couple Next Door by Shari Lapena- I had seen so many recs for this book that I had to read it. It was NUTS and so good! Read it in 24 hours and couldn’t put it down! I was in our hotel room, using my phone as a flashlight so that I could finish it! Ha!
For a recap, here is what I read in JUNE…
The Best Yes by Lysa TerKeurst- I loved this book. Mr. Fancy is now reading it. If you’ve ever said “yes” to something because you felt guilty saying “no,” then read this book. It has already helped me immensely.
Unglued by Lysa TerKeurst- I started this book years ago and hadn’t finished it. It was great! I think all of her books are so relatable. I could completely relate to this one so much.
Nothing To Prove by Jennie Allen- This one was good, but it did take me longer to get through. I’m not sure if I just needed to think more or what. But this was the end of my June reads.
Here are a few books that I have read in the past year and loved, if you need other recommendations:
Uninvited by Lysa TerKeurst- I loved this book! So much goodness!! I highly recommend it!
The Girl on the Train by Paula Hawkins- Could NOT put this one down! SO good! Definitely read the book before you see the movie! This was a perfect vacation read! I read it last summer at the beach!
The Nightingale by Kristin Hannah- This one starts off a tad slow, but I loved it. It was really a great book!
The Woman in Cabin 10 by Ruth Ware- could NOT put this one down! It was SO good!
Gone Girl by Gillian Flynn- this is one of those perfect vacation reads because you just can’t out this one down!
The Nest by Cynthis D’Aprix Sweeny- This one got mixed reviews. I loved it, but I have friends who weren’t fans! Totally depends on the person, I guess! I read it at the beach and thought it was a perfect beach read!
I hope your month is off to a great start! What books are you planning to read this month? XO!
I finished What Alice Forgot recently and I LOVED it! The Husband’s Secret was really good too! I just got done reading a book called The Light We Lost, and it was really good. It read as if the main character was telling the story of her life during a certain period of time while discussing two love interests. I really loved it.
I just finished Big Little Lies by Liane Moriarty – can highly recommend it – and I loved her writing style, so I will defenitely read Truly Madly Guilty soon.
