Happy Thursday lovelies! Do you ever have those days or weeks where you feel like you need more hours in the day or maybe even, a clone of yourself to conquer your never-ending to-do list?! I’m had one of those days yesterday. It has to do with school starting again and feeling rushed to get out the door on time and trying to get as much accomplished as I can while Teddy’s in school. It’s pressure that I put on myself. I always want to get all the errands, etc, totally finished before pickup and if you think about it, it’s really such a short amount of time that they are actually in preschool. We changed schools this year and the trek to and from school is proving to be extremely LONG and rough, due to morning commuter traffic too, so that is adding to the stress a bit. Last night as Mr. Fancy and I were texting to catch up on the day, I said “I’m so tired!” and he replied “I’m not surprised! You’ve been stressed since 8 am!” Good point, Mr. Fancy. Really good point. I thought about it a lot last night and figured I needed to come up with a plan to get me through the busy days because, hello, we are only two days into the school year! Lots more days to go!
I write a poem in our Christmas card every year to give fam and friends an update on what’s been happening with us all year and I decided to write a little back to school poem. It’s actually relaxing to me! Ha! I am not a poet and it’s not perfect but I love writing them and this one makes me laugh!
I think the beginning of the school year must be a struggle for every parent, right? We have always done school three days a week and now we have switched to five days a week because Teddy was always asking to go to school every day for the past two years. But it seems like a lot to me (a lot of driving for sure!!), to wake up and rush each day to get out the door and to school on time. I realize that in one short year, this will be the normal for us when Teddy starts kindergarten. Maybe it’s all still so new and it’ll take some getting used to. I’m hoping that’s it. Do you have a system or advice on how to get through the busy school days? I would love to hear from you! I hope you are having a fabulous week! t’s almost the weekend! Woohoo!!!
