Happy Monday, my peeps! I hope your week is kicking off to a great start! Today is the first day back after a week long vacay and you know those are always a bit of a struggle! But, I am so excited about today’s post! I recently had the opportunity to learn about a newer (to me) community, here in Houston! It’s called Bridgeland and it is truly amazing. I wish I would have known about this place when we moved here 4 years ago, so I am super excited to share it with you. I get asked a lot about different areas of Houston from people who are relocating here, so, I was excited to have another community that I could add to my list of recommendations! As a lot of you know, I live in a community called The Woodlands. It’s a master-planned community that I have grown to love and don’t leave it often, because we have everything we need and then some, here! That being said, I was excited to venture out to Bridgeland and learn more about what they had to offer their residents. And you guys, it’s some good stuff! I’m going to share some of my favorite features of this community with you in today’s post! It’s a long one, so, sit back, grab a cup of coffee and let me tell you all about this amazing little (big) community!
A little background on Bridgeland. The developer of this community is the same developer of The Woodlands, The Howard Hughes Corporation. Howard Hughes develops many other properties and communities across the United States! Living in a Howard Hughes community myself, I can say first hand that they sure know what they are doing when developing these communities.
The newest Bridgeland addition, Parkland Village opens soon! They are hosting a grand opening event and you are invited! If you are local, relocating or just want to learn more about the Bridgeland community, their grand opening event will be held on March 24 and April 7 and they would love to have you in attendance! Here are a few exciting things you can expect if you attend the event!! See more about the event HERE!
Enjoy live music
Goat yoga
Food trucks
Model home tour with prizes
Scavenger hunt for kids at Josey Lake
Train rides
Inflatable zone
Arts & crafts for kids
Canoe and kayak rides
Bridgeland is 11-years-old and still has about 20-25 years of building to do. This means, there is SO much more great stuff to come! The price point for this community ranges from $240s-$1 million, so truly there is something for everyone, home wise. Fun fact – a lot of residents will continue to buy/sell within Bridgeland and some folks are on their second and third homes within the community.
Residents move up in home size/price, as they expand their families, or they downsize as kids head off to college, etc. I love that aspect! This bring us to the building situation. Within Bridgeland, there are 16 different builders. Meaning, there is a lot to choose from in terms of price, home style, etc. All builders within the community offer energy efficient, smart homes with a variety of technology packages. Smart home and energy efficient technology are both key factors in new builds in this day and age.
A few fun facts: Upon completion, Bridgeland will feature 3,000 acres dedicated to lakes, trails and parks, which includes 900 acres of waterways and lakes, 60 miles of interconnecting trails and more than 400 acres of parks and playgrounds! Amazing, right?
Now, to my favorite part! Let’s discuss the MANY amenities Bridgeland has to offer! It’s hard to pick my favorites, but here are a few! The underground tunnels cross under many busy roads – a parents’ dream come true! Imagine not having to worry about your kiddo having to cross a busy street to get to a park! I seriously love this feature. All lakes offer “catch and release” fishing. What a fun family experience! You can also check out fishing gear. And the best news, this is all a part of your home owner’s association fees! The newest parks offer food truck plugins. You can have a food truck come and it’s easily plugged in and ready for action!
Here is a list of a few of my favorite amenities:
-Playground-style zip line
-Slides (in the parks)
-Ping pong tables
-Hammock park (a whole area dedicated to just hammocks!)
-Mist garden (perfect for kids and dogs on a hot summer day!)
-Splash pads
-Heated pools
-Boat house (checkout kayaks to use on the lake and store your own!)
-Dog parks
-Miles and miles of bike and hike trails
-Tree house park (coolest treehouse I’ve ever seen!)
-They offer over 31 community groups to help you get to know your neighbors. (think bunco, poker, book club!)
-Multi-educational village campus that includes 1 million-square-feet of learning space for at least 5,912 students, and will include a 4-story high school, 3-story middle school and 2-story elementary school. (Bridgeland HS and Wells Elementary are now open.)
-About 25-40 minutes from downtown Houston
-Bisected by Grand Parkway, 2.5 miles from US 290 and 3.8 miles from Cypress Park & Ride
-Friday Night Bites (Where neighbors gather and hang out with food trucks, music, games etc! The second Friday of each month)
-Future 900-acre town center with shopping, restaurants, entertainment, offices and hospitality.
With the most amazing amenities, Bridgeland also offers customizable homes from some of the best homebuilders. I recently had the opportunity to see a Newmark home and check out the design process from start to finish!
While there are lots of builders to choose from, I loved the semi-custom options Newmark offers. They have more than 80 pages of customizations home buyers can choose from to upgrade their future home and make it more their style! The process begins with picking a home site and deciding where you want your future home located. Then, you get to start the design process – my favorite part.
Here are a few pictures of the model home I toured! Also, there is an awesome incentive going on right now! If you purchase a home between March 1 and April 30 with participating homebuilders, you can receive up to $10,000 in incentives towards your new dream home!
I love this elevation. It’s really such a pretty house and the front doors are a huge favorite of mine!
When you walk into the home, there is a sprawling staircase and a beautiful outdoor courtyard to the right. Already thinking about coffee and cocktail hours al fresco.
The open floor plan is a must in most homes these days! The kitchen opens up to a beautiful family room and it is such a great size! I also love the formal dining room can be a part of this space because it’s so open. This is a great entertaining house!
I loved the kitchen! The mix of open and regular cabinets was so inviting and ‘me’ in a kitchen.
You know how much I love open shelves!
The kitchen sink faces out to a huge window! You can watch the kids in the backyard, while doing the dishes. Plus, this window helps to open the kitchen so much, and I also love the way they set the kitchen up for a table to run parallel to the island. Some days, I wish I set my kitchen up this way!
All in all, this fully customizable home was just beautiful, and I love the idea of the design possibilities being endless! You can truly create the home of your dreams!
I truly loved getting the opportunity to see Bridgeland and I am so excited to watch this community grow over the next few years! After I posted on my INSTAGRAM STORIES, I had a few of you tell me you live in Bridgeland and love it! I can see why! It’s such an awesome community and it seems they’ve truly thought of just about everything!! So, what do you think? Are you as over the moon for this development as I am? Be sure to head HERE for more details on Bridgeland and head HERE to see more info on their grand opening event! They’d love to see you there! Have a fabulous day, my peeps! XO!

Oh my..this sounds fantastic! Communities like this are so needed. I live in SanAntonio and wish we had one similar to this. Thanks for sharing this little gem????
Looks so nice! I’d love to live in a place like this, especially for all the amenities! And that house is so beautiful!!
That community sounds wonderful! That particular home you featured is absolutely stunning. I love the floors, the courtyard, kitchen–pretty much everything!! I live in Nashville now, but if we were to move to Houston, I would certainly choose to live in the Bridgeland community based upon your review. 🙂
