Green Drink with Peanut Butter Recipe

It’s been about 5 months since I incorporated a green drink into my daily routine. It helps so much to drink my greens, veggies and fruit, because let’s face it, there’s lots of days, where as a mom, there’s not time to eat three full meals a day. This has really helped to make sure I get as much of the good stuff in my body as I can, all at once. I first turned up my nose to green drinks, but I find myself craving them if I haven’t had one by about 2 pm. I try to do one first this with my coffee or right after a workout, but sometimes the day gets busy and I have to settle for an afternoon green drink. I am constantly trying and testing out different recipes. I drink the same one for a month or two and then I move onto to trying out some new ingredients.

There are a few ingredients that are always in there. Banana, apple, pineapple, water and chia seeds. Then I mess around with different greens and other ingredients. This new one I came up with this weekend because I was out of the usual ingredients that I have been drinking for the past month. Instead of running to the store, I decided to improvise and the outcome was awesome and to delicious not to share.

Green Drink with PB

Green Smoothie with Peanut Butter

Ingredients

The Necessities:

  • 2-4 half pint mason jars
  • 1 red apple
  • 1 green apple
  • 2 bananas
  • 1 cup frozen pineapple
  • 2 cups spinach
  • 2 tablespoons peanut butter
  • 6 cups water you can do less. I prefer a water-like consistency

Instructions

Directions:

  1. Add all ingredients to a powerful blender (I have this Ninja Blender) and mix until smooth. Consistency should be like water. Pour into a mason jar, add a cute straw and enjoy.

i have been loosely researching blenders. i was gifted a juicer. gag me. not a fan of juicing and it takes forever. i want a blender i can blend greens & fruits & protein together. i’ve been looking at the vitamix. but am hesitant about the WHOOPING price…you have the ninja…do you love? did you compare those two guys? the price is clearly better but i hate to pony up 200 and then not be pleased and feel i need to pony up 400 for the vitamix…any scoop you have would be great! xoxo

  6. Yum! Totally trying tomorrow. Made another green concoction of yours with the mint in it this weekend and it was amazing! Must try the peanut butter now 🙂

In the rush to get from work to baseball and soccer practices last night, I didn’t have time to eat, but I had all of these ingredients to throw in the blender. It was delicious and filled me up!
