Happy Thursday, peeps!!! This week is flying by and we leave for vacation in a week, so I am pretty sure next week is going to fly as well!
Have you taken Christmas card photos yet? We usually try to schedule them in October or November, so that I can send out our cards right after Thanksgiving! If you can believe it, I’m already working on our cards! More on those next week! Today, I am talking with Nordstrom about some cute holiday inspired looks for the kiddos and a great coordinating look for Holiday cards.
Now, over the years, I will tell you the one thing I’ve given up on in general…perfection. But, with family pictures, it’s huge to give this up. We all want the perfect picture of our kiddos. But, it’s usually almost impossible, so I gave that up and just hope for the best! I’ll tell you, it makes the photo session way less stressful! These cards are supposed to be a reflection of your kids’ and family’s personalities, which means, let them be them! I walked away and let my photographer have 5 minutes alone taking photos of Teddy and Reagan and while there are some super silly photos that I love, I feel like we got some perfect shots of their hilarious personalities, which is what I really wanted! I want our friends and family who don’t see them everyday, to get a small glimpse into our lives by seeing our card photos.

When it comes to outfits, I try to let their personalities also shine through. I head to Nordstrom to grab all things holiday clothes related for both kiddos. They always have the best selection of clothes, accessories and shoes! Reagan is a huge fan of sequins, so THIS DRESS was a natural choice for her ensemble. She loves everything sparkly, so her favorite gold FLATS were also a must. We added a pom-pom headband and this is just so her in the stage she is in right now! 20 years from now, we will look back at these photos and remember how much she loved shiny and sparkly things! Teddy is really not as opinionated about his outfits as Reagan is…I loved this FLANNEL SHIRT and knew it would be perfect with JEANS and that it would coordinate well with Reagan’s DRESS. Teddy threw on his RAIN BOOTS as we were headed out the door, because it was raining the day we took these photos. I actually loved the idea because my kids definitely have a thing for their RAIN BOOTS. Again, it just helps their personalities shine through even more to let them add to their own touches to each outfit.
