Today marks the one year mark of when we moved into our house. I decided today was the perfect day to start my new Tuesday series, “Home Tour Tuesdays.” It has taken me almost a full year to get this house where I want it and honestly, I still have a few unfinished rooms that are in progress. I swear, it takes forever to finish a house! I’m going to start with the little presidents’ rooms. I asked for a vote on Instagram and the first few comments requested Teddy’s room first, so here we go! There are so many things we say before we actually become parents, that change after we actually have children. One of mine was “I will never EVER do a character bedroom.” Famous last words, right? Teddy was dying for a superhero bedroom and at the end of the day, I wanted him to LOVE his room, so I agreed. I couldn’t do it without doing my own spin on it! He is THRILLED with the outcome and honestly so am I. We both love it!
Here is a little peek into Teddy’s room!
After we did our gingham wall in the playroom, I think Mr. Fancy never wanted to paint again. Teddy wanted red and white stripes in his bedroom, so we made it happen!
I love mixing and matching fabrics. This is a favorite combo of mine (I say that about every pillow combo.)!
Polaroid Camera // Superhero Book // Batman Clock
Teddy is somewhat of a collector, so, I wanted a table where he could display all his things.
My vision for Teddy’s room always included these maps that were made by my great grandfather. They are of California and Colorado (where Teddy was born). I hope he’ll always keep these in his home in some sort of capacity. They are really a neat thing to have!
My best friend saw this toolbox with Teddy’s name on it at a vintage shop a few years back and I immediately drove there and purchased it. It’s such a cool piece and again, I hope he’ll always keep this!
It was fun to work with Teddy and hear his ideas and watch both of our visions of this room come to life. He loves how it turned out and is so proud of it, which makes me SO happy.

this is great! You are right, it takes forever to get a house finished. can’t wait to see the rest.
LOVE it all! so creative and fun to see how you mixed and matched so many patterns and styles. can’t wait to see more of this series!
Ashley, This looks fantastic!! You did a great job of incorporating superhero. of course, I love the buffalo plaid. xo
What a terrific space! You really captured what he wanted, with a creative and unique spin.
LOVE his room! You guys did a wonderful job combining the superhero theme, without making it look too “theme-y.” Sorry if I missed this in the details, but where did you get the wire basket next to nightstands? Thanks! Cannot wait to see the rest of your beautiful home!
Love this! You did such a good job of giving him his superhero room but still making it a grown up version that he can grow into!
Teddy’s room turned out so well!! You did a great job with integrating the character theme without it looking too kid-ish. Can’t wait to see what you’ve done with Regans’s room and the rest of the house!
I love how easily you balanced the theme without the room looking “theme-y”. I have the same duvet for my son-my mom found it at the outlet for less than $20!!! Do you happen to have a link for the tartan fabric you used for the pillows? I’ve been looking for something similar and have only found polyester and flannel. Thank you!
I was curious about the red plaid pillows! I love them!!! You are not afraid of mixing patterns, and that is seriously a gift. I am an interior designer, and it is so hard for clients to see or picture pattern mixing!!!
Ashley, it looks so great! Love his room! The toolbox may be my favorite part – what a treasure!
Love this room! I know you said the buffalo check duvet was sold out or no longer available, but do you mind sharing what brand it is? Thank you!
Hey I love the paint- do you know what the white color is? and how big your stripes are spaced?
Thanks you! love love love this room 🙂
