How to Have a Tie Dye Party

Hi friends and happy Tuesday! I hope your week is off to a great start! We are moving and grooving still here and just ready to get back into the swing of things! For now, I am trying to enjoy our time together and find fun stuff for us all to do! Tie dye is so big right now and it’s so much fun to do yourself! I had this kit just waiting to be used and the weather was amazing yesterday, so we decided to set up shop out and tie dye all the things! If you haven’t done this with your kiddos yet, it’s a great activity, quarantine or not, to do with them! It was super fun and we did it outside on a washable picnic blanket, so all we had to do was hose it off and we were set! Take a peek at some great tie dye essentials to have your own tie dye party! And see our tie dye creations, below!

Tie dye rookie here! Did you start with a white sweatshirt? How did you make it and not have the white marks where the rubber bands were? I LOVE the way yours turned out! I want to make one with my kiddo too, just looking for tips to have the full color like yours!! Thanks!!

We honestly didn’t do anything specific. The kits I shared came with instructions on how to do different looks. We used a TON of dye! Ha! We didn’t have any white because when I put them in the plastic, the dye transfers! And also when I washed them! Hope that helps! You honestly can’t go wrong! Even the the little blips we had, still looked great!!

What size did you order in the sweatshirt for you? And did you cut the bottom of it?

I thought you had to use 100% Cotton but you used a blend and they turned out great! Good to know because 100% Cotton White sweatshirts are not easy to find. I’ve tried!
