I Hit 10,000 Steps a Day, Here’s What Happened…

This post is sponsored by Nordstrom. I love partnering with brands that I love and trust. Post ideas and opinions are my own.

Hi and happy Thursday! I hope your week is shaping up to be a good one. At the risk of sounding like a broken record, but also at being authentic, I’m going to dive into a bit of deeper topic today. My plan for todays post is to share a bit about my fitness journey and I’m excited to partner with Nordstrom to do so! I’ve shopped at Nordstrom since I was a child and it will always be one of my favorite one stop shops. I have partnered with them on posts for years now and it never gets old. I truly love Nordstrom and shop there on a regular basis for the whole family. Needless to say, whenever I am gearing up for things, I always check their site first. One of my favorite Nordstrom made brands is Zella and I wear a ton of Zella when I workout.

So, back to my fitness. Staying fit, staying active has never been natural for me, as I’ve talked about before. I never typically enjoyed working out until I got my Peloton. Then I loved it and rode it almost daily. It became a great form of stress and emotional release, especially during the months of quarantine. Regardless of doing riding daily and not changing my diet, I still managed to pack on ten pounds of quarantine weight. Ugh. I haven’t been this weight since being pregnant, so it’s been a bit of a stress if I’m being honest. I think just knowing that at my age, it’ll be harder to get off, not knowing exactly what caused it, etc. I swear stress, hormones, cortisol, etc are the reasons for the gain, but who actually knows. Regardless of the reason, I am determined to get it off because I just feel blah and not great. I always say it’s not about the weight-it’s about how I feel and I need to feel better. It doesn’t help that Houston is HOT, humid and miserable at this time of year, so I feel so uninspired to workout even more. Luckily, we’ve spent the past few weeks in California and I had set a goal to be more active here, prior to arriving.

With the amazing weather here in Orange County, California, there is literally NO excuse not to get outside. In fact, we always say, we were way more active when we lived in San Diego. We used to walk all the time with the kids and the dogs and I miss that in a big way, I’ve realized. So, my goal…I decided to walk two miles a day and to try and hit 10,000 steps most days while we are here. I can tell you that I’ve only missed the 10K steps a couple days and those days, I was pretty darn close! I’ve exceed 10k steps some days, too! I am proud of myself!! I have no idea if I’ve lost weight, but I do feel better and that’s what matters to me. Exercise gives you endorphins and I swear the active goal of getting outside daily, it helps, too!

I’m so glad I stocked up on some workout gear essentials for this trip because I have worn more workout gear in the past few weeks than I have in a long time! Loving my new Zella staples from Nordstrom! Take a peek!

I’m with you! Similar thing happening to me. I also do Peloton pretty consistently and eat pretty healthy. I have tried so hard to keep it up during quarantine but this is the heaviest I have been in my whole life ???? Agree that must be due to stress and anxiety these weird times have brought. I turned 40 this year and I swear my metabolism changed that day, lol.
Anyways, thank you for being honest and for your daily encouragement. I love following you. Even though I am taller, we have similar body shapes and I often look at you for fit and sizing.
Hang in there! Have a beautiful day!

It’s definitely a weird time! I know I’ve heard from so many people that they’ve gained weight despite working out daily on the Peloton or doing other things. I really do think it’s stress! Aw I’m so glad to hear that my posts are encouraging! Thank you for reading and thank you for being here! It means a lot! XO!
