I am headed out of town again tomorrow EARLY in the am.
I have travelled so much over the past three months. It’s crazy. I usually hardly ever go anywhere. It’s just a busy season of our lives. 🙂
As I prepare to head out yet again, I am thinking about the state of my house.
It’s pretty chaotic in here. I have stuff everywhere.
I have been gone every weekend for the past month and it just kind of builds up when you travel. I still haven’t even unpacked from my trip to Houston last weekend. I figure I’ll do that later this evening as I am packing for tomorrow’s trip.
We are laying pretty low due to potty training and I honestly don’t mind.
It’s nice to just be here, at home.
Even if it is a mess.
I’m trying to clean up some things before I go.
Clearing off the dining room table, putting laundry away…those kinds of things.
But, I’m not going to beat myself up over it, if I can’t get it done.
It’s hard to keep all of the balls in the air and I think I have finally realized that it’s okay if my house isn’t spotless.
It’s never been spotless, but in an ideal world, everything would be put away…that’s my idea of spotless. The house is clean, but the mess I am talking about is, toys everywhere, shoes everywhere, just random things everywhere. There’s even a princess potty in my family room. 🙂
In a sense, I feel like the spotless house makes me feel more at peace, but at the same time, the pressure I put on myself to try to keep it clean is not peaceful at all.
I’m trying to find a happy medium in the midst of a lot of travel, life, etc.
But, as I looked in my family room a few minutes ago, I saw this and while it probably looks like a huge pile of chaos to some people, I actually felt a huge sense of peace.
Yes, the house isn’t clean. Yes, I have a lot to accomplish before my 6am flight tomorrow.
But, everybody’s happy and right now in this moment, I feel totally and completely at peace.
Chaos and all.
Happy Saturday, friends! I hope you have a FAB one!
