Most days, I read my daily devotional, Jesus Calling and I swear that it was written just for me.
Today was no exception. I shared this on Instagram this morning with the intention of going into a tad more detail this afternoon.
“Imagine the pain I feel when My Children tie themselves up in anxious knots, ignoring My gift of Peace. I died a criminal’s death to secure this blessing for you.”
Wow.
Just wow.
That sure puts all of my stress and anxiety in perspective. Anxiety over things that aren’t even in my control.
“My Peace is an inner treasure, growing within you as you trust in Me.”
Again, such powerful words. It boils down to trust.
“Trust in Me.”
I feel like today’s devotion totally slapped me in the face, in a good way.
I needed a reminder not to ignore His gift of Peace.
I needed this reminder to just sit and be present with my family today.
To sit on the couch and watch tv and just relax with each other.
I needed a day that didn’t consist of trying to accomplish everything on my never-ending to do list.
I needed a day where we had nowhere to be and nothing to do.
A day where we could sit and enjoy donuts and coffee at a leisurely pace for breakfast, followed by cheeseburgers for lunch.
I needed this day to be still and enjoy His Peace.
What about you? What did your Sunday consist of?
This is the 13th post in a 31 day series about Finding Peace. You can see all of the posts in this series, here.
