Happy Wednesday, peeps! I am joining some old and new blogging pals for a good, old fashioned blog hop today! We are all sharing some Thanksgiving ideas. Such a fun way to get a bunch of ideas all at once and to hop from blog to blog and hopefully find some new blogs to follow! Naturally, I decided to share my idea of the perfect Thanksgiving outfit, but I also wanted to share one of my favorite recipes ever! Amazingly, it was never on my own site, only on another site that I used to contribute to. I have gotten so many emails and comments asking where to find it, so look no further, the mini mason jar pecan pie recipe is here to stay!
Now, listen, I have said it a million times, everything tastes better in a mason jar. It’s a proven fact. Why not put a pie in a mason jar?! You can see my berry cobbler recipe HERE. So, try something new this holiday season, pumpkin pie and pecan pie, two Thanksgiving favorites, in a mason jar! Your guests will go nuts over these, I promise you!
Mini Mason Jar Pecan Pies
Take a simple (and the best!) pecan pie recipe (I use THIS ONE) and make the filling. This recipe should yield about 12-14, 4 ounce mason jars (get them HERE). I use THIS CRUST recipe and I make it gluten free by using THIS FLOUR. Press, the crust (after it’s been chilled) into the bottom and sides of your mason jars, add 1-2 tablespoons of chopped pecans to the bottom of crust, pour the filling over the top. The pecan should float to the top. Bake the pies on a baking sheet, at 350 degrees, covered in foil for 20 minutes, remove foil and bake for another 20-30 minutes. Watch pies and take them out as soon that they begin to get golden brown…let cool. Add a lid and keep at room temperature or refrigerate. ENJOY!

Now for the outfit details! When it comes to Thanksgiving, I am looking for cute and also, comfy. Thanksgiving to some, can mean LONG hours of cooking and baking in the kitchen. I do not cook the turkey, but I do help with sides and desserts (hello, pies!), so I need to be sure that my ensemble can get me through the long day! These plaid pants are so fun and versatile. I think they will be worn again and again. Add in a fun top to pattern mix and finish it off with a statement necklace and add some neutral leopard heels and you are set for a day celebrating all the things you are thankful for, with family and friends!

Those mini mason jars just seem to make everything look cuter! But, somehow I’ve never thought of them. Thank you for the recipe as well! My family loves pecan pie. Can’t wait to try it out!
