We’ve had one of those much-needed weekends of rest. I am feeling very blessed that we had this time together to just hang out and do nothing. I struggle to relax and just be at peace in our house because I always feel like I should be doing something. I’m sure you can relate.
You know, the never-ending to do list.
There is one room in my house that always seems to bring me peace. The room where I go to create and to craft.
The craft suite.
We had nothing planned again today, so, I was able to spend a few peaceful hours in the craft suite.
I finished up half-started projects, worked on a few gifts and planned out some of the little presidents’ Halloween/Thanksgiving and Christmas outfits.
This time was much-needed for me.
We are in such a busy season of our lives. The last few months have been a whirlwind and the next few weeks of our calendar are very booked as well. While, it’s all exciting stuff, it’s still nice to just be home, with each other, with nowhere to be. Seeing as how I am writing about Finding Peace for 31 days, I want to be sure that I focus and write about some of the little things that bring me peace in my chaotic days and I want to be sure that I make time to do those things more.
Crafting and creating in the craft suite are very peaceful for me.
It’s usually just me and the hum of my sewing machine or embroidery machine and the ideas running through my head. I love this time and it’s pretty rare these days because life is so busy.
I feel such a sense of peace and relaxation after getting to spend a weekend with my family and making time to do some creating and crafting. It’s really the simple, little things.
What about you? Is there a room or spot in your house that brings a sense of peace to you?
This is the 7th post in a 31 day series about Finding Peace. You can find all the other posts, here.
