Happy Tuesday, peeps! I’m trying to get back in action today after a crazy few days! Our flight Saturday was canceled and all the flights over the next few days were booked…until THURSDAY and even then, we could only get 3 of us on that flight. I’m not complaining about the potential of a 2 week vacation, but, Mr. Fancy needed to be home for a flight Tuesday am and the kids had to get back to school, so he searched and searched and found us a flight on Monday am out of San Diego. So, we headed to our old stomping grounds and stayed with our friends/old neighbors for the night on Sunday! It was such a fun bonus day! Moral of the story, travel can be great or nuts and flights can randomly get canceled and it’s not the worst thing! So, onto Tuesday Talk, where ERIKA and I chat about whatever is on our mind, on the third Tuesday of every month!
So today, I want to talk about powder bathrooms. Random I know, but I love to decorate these fun little spaces and I have too many ideas going on, so I need opinions! You may remember my PINEAPPLE POWDER ROOM from my old house. I loved this SPACE and honestly, I am contemplating recreating it in my new house.
We have two small powder rooms in this new house. One is right off the laundry room and right by a door to the backyard and pool, so we call it the “pool bathroom.” Mainly because, if you’re out in the pool and need a restroom, this is the bathroom that you’d go to. This is also the bathroom that the kids use when they are downstairs. No reason, they just started using it after we moved in and it’s the one they use a lot. The other powder room is right off our family room. So, this is more a space that guests will be using. So, I figured I would show you my wallpaper and wall ideas for these two spaces and you can weigh in with your opinions!
For the pool bathroom, I am considering just covering the whole wall with beadboard. I love this look and it’s simple and classic. The fixtures are all brass in this space and the floor is a herringbone brick, so it could look awesome, but it will be SUPER white if we paint the paneling white, so I am also considering adding color with wallpaper. Here are a few I am looking at for this space.
I thought these STRIPES were fun and they come in a few colors! It could be so cute for a pool bathroom!!
Check– This is my first instinct for this space. You know I love a good CHECK, so I figure this is a fun spot to add this into this house as well.
Loved this version of a watercolor check too!
LEMONS are a fun little option!
Ebony Pineapples– This is fun and a different spin on what I had in the OLD HOUSE.
Peonies– I have always loved these peonies. It’s such a bright and happy paper.
Dog Park– Even though Abbey doesn’t spend anytime in this area of the house, I have always thought dog wallpaper in or near a laundry room is fun! Also love the blue colorway.
Or we can just keep it simple and do a beadboard from floor to ceiling. We could paint it white or a different color, to add some pizazz. Honestly, this beadboard is the direction I am leaning towards at the moment. Just for sheer reason that it is simple, crisp and clean and perfect for a pool bathroom. Then we could add some color with towels and some pictures on the wall.
So, onto the other powder bathroom. I am truly thinking of recreating THIS SPACE from our old house. It was a perfect bathroom and such a happy space.
I also like this COLORWAY of the pineapples for this room. It’s just a tad different than the other!
But, we could take it in a different direction and do one of these papers:
This WALLPAPER is different, but fun at the same time.
I have always loved this WALLPAPER. It could be cute in REAGAN’S ROOM too!
Reagan and I are both obsessed with this WALLPAPER and she wants to use it in her new room…but I think it could be so cute in a powder room too!
This WALLPAPER was a front runner for my last powder room, so it’s still an option for this one!
Well, clearly I am ALL over the place with my ideas! Decisions, decisions. Let me know your thoughts! XO!
Don’t forget to head over to ERIKA’S BLOG to see what she is talking about this week and you can link up below!
I love/hate that wallpaper is so en vogue right now.. It looks great.. Loooove the pineapple powder room you had! BUT, I feel like I get sick of it fairly quickly, and taking it down is the worst! Such a conundrum!
I am wanting to add wallpaper to my home. Either the powder room and/or mud room or to my dining room. What are your thoughts on a larger space? Big print, small print, no rules???
I like the water color check best as it is fresh, clean and something that wouldn’t get outdated too quickly (the other check is totally Bath & Body Works decor)!
