Valentine’s Day Lunch Ideas for Kiddos

It’s no secret that I love Valentine’s Day!

I have been getting ready since January!

Teddy’s valentines are ready to go and the little presidents and moi are all set outfit-wise!

Today, I wanted to share a few of my favorite ways to make your kiddos’ lunches a little more fancy and full of LOVE to celebrate the month of LOVE! My ideas are great for a lunchbox or a lunch at home. Since Teddy goes to school, he gets a lunchbox full of love and since Reagan is not in school yet, she gets the same LOVE treats at home.

Valentine's Day Lunch Ideas for Kiddos // Fancy AshleyAs always, my ideas are pretty simple and easy. Most items I already have on hand and any new items will be used again and again.

IMG_3103The necessities:

Cookie Cutters (Large and Nesting Heart Set )

Valentine’s Day Cupcake Liners

Valentine’s Day Straws (Mine were purchased at Target)

Silicone Cupcake Liners (Make sure you tell your kiddos not to toss these and to bring them home)

Kisses (I always like to add a small treat)

Heart Napkins

Baker’s Twine

Little Lunchbox Cards (I made these myself. You can see my stamp tutorials here and here. You can buy the “I heart” stamp here.)

My first step is always to make the sandwiches.

IMG_3120 copyI like to use all different heart shapes and do the mini hearts to use what is left of the sandwich, after I have done the larger hearts.  They are actually my favorite. They are so tiny and cute and perfect for tiny hands.

IMG_3124My next step is always the fruit leather. I had this idea last year and it turned out so cute and Teddy LOVED it! I just take a tiny heart shaped cookie cutter and cut little hearts out of the fruit leather! These are always a huge hit!

It’s fun for the kiddos to have their favorite snacks/treats in festive little containers and it’s SO simple to do! Reagan especially loves the festive containers! She gets a total kick out of them!

Untitled-2These little straws are the cutest thing ever. I may or may not have bought all that I could find at our Target. They are adorable tied to a little drink! Plus, I might be sipping my Sofia and wine with these for the rest of the month as well.

In the end you have a sweet little LOVE-filled lunch for your kiddo!
