February Reading List
THE LAST FLIGHT – Okay, LOVED this book. It was so full of suspense that I couldn’t put it down! It was definitely a book, that I would’ve preferred to read on vacay when I can literally just only focus on reading it each day! It was about a chance meeting at an airport where two women make a last minute decision to switch tickets/lives and the outcome is wild!! SO CRAZY!!
THEY WISH THEY WERE US – This one started out a bit slower for me, but once I got into it, it was great! Full of suspense and in the end, I couldn’t get over who had done it! It was just not what I expected at all! If you liked the show Gossip Girl, I think you’ll enjoy this one!! I also just saw that they are coming out with a show based off this book, on HBO, called “The Players Table.” So, definitely add this to your list before it comes out!
FIREFLY LANE – Favorite book of the month! I’ve talked about this a lot on stories! So, if you haven’t heard of this one, it’s also a show on Netflix. In almost all cases, I will say to read a book first and then watch a show or movie. But, in this case, my suggestion is to watch the show first, then read the book. The majority of people who read the book first, were disappointed with the show. It really is hard to compare them because the show, while it has the same characters, the storyline is completely different than the book. So, I personally felt like I was reading a book with characters that I knew, but I also felt like it was way different. I also liked having faces to put with the book characters. This book, while sad and not lighthearted, was wonderful in my opinion. I couldn’t put it down. And I sobbed at the ending. So, prepare yourself for lots of feelings with this one. It’s such a real life book that I think it just hits closer to home. Highly recommend this one!
FLY AWAY – This is the sequel to Firefly Lane and truthfully, I feel like its a must read after! It really answers SO many questions and helped me to have closure, which I desperately needed after the ending of Firefly Lane. I did get feedback from a few people that they couldn’t get into it, but I would urge you to read this one after Firefly Lane! I thought it was just as good as the first!!

I definitely was a bit disappointed in Netflix’s Firefly Lane but luckily it had been long enough since I read the book that I only remembered vague bits and pieces of it. I don’t think I knew there was a sequel to it though!
