Happy Wednesday, friends! One of the emails that I receive on a weekly and sometimes, daily basis, has to do with our porcelain “wood” tile floors. If you are new here, you can read about our floor fiasco, HERE. I wanted to take this opportunity to share some details on our floors and try to answer as many questions as I can, about them!
Most readers that email me regarding our floors, want to hear my honest opinions of the floors and the brand, etc. You can see more brand info HERE. We have lived with these floors for almost two years now. It will be two years in July that they were put in. People ask me if I would do them again and I always say I would do them again in a heartbeat. They have been amazing and honestly, I totally prefer them over wood. They are SO easy to clean and maintain. Quite possibly the most low-key flooring option in my opinion. You never have to worry about water on them, like you do with wood. Obviously, wood flooring is beautiful and still a great flooring option, I am just more reluctant to use it, after our moisture issue. These wood tile floors have been ideal and honestly, if we ever left this house, I think they are one of the things that I would miss most about this place! Ha! But, in all seriousness, they are one of my favorite things about this house. Yes, the tile can be cold on the feet, but I am a socks or slippers person when I am in my house, so it’s never bothered me, or any of us for that matter. It doesn’t scratch and believe me, I move chairs and such on it all the time. It’s pretty durable as well. We had one piece chip when they put it in and it was an easy fix. They just popped it out and put another plank in. All in all, these have been ideal floors and really, between these and my brick pavers, I feel like I have some pretty durable flooring in this place! I will also tell you that NO ONE believes us when we tell them this is tile. The amount of times that people have had to reach down and touch it or take off a shoe and feel it, is hilarious! As much as we love our floors, it’s definitely a conversation topic to a lot of people who come over!
Now, to answer a few questions! You cannot buy or order this tile in a store. You can find similar options though. This exact flooring needs to be ordered through a contractor or flooring expert. We ordered it through our flooring guy. And from the feedback I have received, it’s not easy to get your hands on. I know that a few readers have found it and put it in their homes since I first posted about it! So it is possible to find! I shared all the info in my first post about our floors and I think the first step would be to find a tile person that can order it for you. If you can’t find someone, then check your local tile places, because there are LOTS of similar tiles out there right now. I have seen a lot out there!!
I hope this update answers all the flooring questions! If I am missing anything that you want to know about the floors, leave a comment and I will add it to this post!

Here is a LINK to our exact tile. They are called “Larex” and the color is “Sun.”
We have a 1/16 of an inch grout line. We wanted the wood tile to look as much like real wood as possible. The small grout line helps achieve that.
Happy Wednesday, peeps! XOXO

I just wanted to post a quick thank you for your info on this flooring. Your earlier reviews convinced us to put this exact floor in our home just a couple months ago. We love it too! With three small children, we wanted something that would take a beating and so far it is the perfect fit. We looked at a LOT of wood-look tile, but this tile has just the right amount of texture and matte finish for what we wanted to achieve.
I agree it was difficult to source, but for those out there thinking about installing this same floor I suggest reaching out to multiple people across the country for pricing. I found probably 5-7 stores that either carry it in stock or could special order it and we received prices that varied by a large margin. In the end we ultimately ordered from a tile shop in Utah (we live in Indiana) because he had the cheapest price including UPS shipping and had the 1,000 square feet in stock that we needed!
Thanks again.
So glad you were able to find! We absolutely LOVE it!! XO!
Love this! Your floors are beautiful!

Thanks, Emily! XO
Gorgeous kitchen! Where is your refrigerator hiding?? Designing our kitchen and scoping some out! ???? thanks!
Hi! It’s right to the left. It’s kind of hidden behind a wall, which we LOVE! XO!
Hey Ashley! What thickness did you use for your tile? It looks like the tile comes in 10mm and 20mm. Thanks!
Hey Megan! I’m pretty sure it’s the larger!
Love these floors! How do you clean them?
You can use any floor cleaner, extremely HOT water, or vinegar and water. We typically do Mrs. Meyers for cleaner and super hot water! So easy to clean. I will spot clean with a clorox or lysol wipe! XO
We had these exact floors put in almost two years ago also. They carry (or at least they did) at Katy Tile in Katy for any of your local readers! 🙂
Don’t you love the ceramic “wood” tile?! We just put similar tile down in our dining room and foyer and we love it! Xo, Stephanie
