Five on Friday-Fancy Style

Happy Friday!

This has been one of those weeks where I feel like I need a redo. Do you ever have those weeks? It just wasn’t a good week and on top of everything I have been sick! Blah! I am so sad because I was supposed to go take a camera class from my friend Jenny and I won’t be going now since I can’t seem to kick this sinus issue. I’m pretty sure if I got on a plane, my head might explode. Ugh! I have tried everything to get better this week and nothing has helped. #downforthecount. It’s hard to be sick in the first place but when it cancels a trip that I’ve been looking forward to, it’s even worse. The weather in Houston is pretty awful today and we have ice and possible snow on the way. They have closed a lot of the schools and cancelled flights, so I may not have made it anyway. I’m remembering Jeremiah 29:11 today as I sit here, sad that I am not well enough to travel. Everything happens for a reason, you just might not understand it at this exact moment.

It’s a fabulous Friday and I am joining the girls for Five on Friday!

Five on Friday One

Today I am over on Every Day Cheer sharing one of my favorite at home date nights! The wine and cheese night! Also, if you have a Trader Joe’s near you, run don’t walk and get yourself the chocolate chip white cheddar cheese. It’s insanely delicious and the perfect addition to a cheese tray. The blueberry goat cheese is right up there too. YUM.

I wanted to thank you ALL for the SWEET comments on my “it’s not about the rain boots” post. I’m so thankful for all of you. I love that so many of us can relate to each other. Some days it’s not easy to share what’s really on my heart but I do anyway. Some days are tough. From what I have read through your emails and comments, we are all going through the same things or have gone through the same stuff. Prayers for all of you who are fighting the same good fight. Just remember, you are trying your best and that is what matters. It’s easy to get down on yourself, as a parent, but on those days, I am really trying to give myself some grace. You should give yourself some grace too. xoxo.

Reagan started ballet last week and despite feeling crummy, I took her yesterday because she has been asking to go back all week! She loves it! I’m very happy that she has one thing to look forward to each week! Plus she looks so adorable all dressed up to dance! She has a recital in May and I can’t wait to see her perform!

Five

Since I spent all of last evening on the couch (praying to feel better!), I decided to do some retail therapy. Amazing how that can cheer you up, right?! I finally picked up this beauty that I have been eyeing since before Christmas. Not sure how I waited as long as I did! Can’t wait to wear it! Coming from California, I don’t seem to have enough sweaters and warmer clothes for as cold as it gets here, so I am slowly trying to add a few more to the wardrobe! Bonus!!! My friend Sheaffer of Pinterest Told Me To has a coupon code going on right now for the fab boutique!

I hope you have a blessed and happy weekend! If the weather is icky where you live, be safe out there! I can see the ice from my windows here!

Cheers to Friday!

Feel better friend! Love the date night idea. As for the boots… Let that boy rock them! But in all seriousness momma- I don’t know how you’re keeping afloat. Moving across the country, right after the holidays. My head is spinning just thinking about it. I think it’s awesome you got the littles enrolled in activities ASAP. If for no other than reason than getting to see Reagan in full ballerina mode 😉 recital for Carsyn is in May also- good times are coming!! Hugs from ky.. As always

I hope you feel better ASAP! It is the worst to feel bad when you have something you’re looking forward to that it gets in the way of. Your ballerina is too cute. Love her in her tutu!

  12. I absolutely have weeks that I’d like to redo. I’m sorry you can’t make it to Jenny’s class this time. I was bummed when I couldn’t attend the class this go around, but I’m planning/hoping to attend the next one. Maybe that’ll be the one you’re able to attend, too. Have a great weekend…stay warm!

Hi Ashley, I hope next week is better. I’d like a do over also. No school all week and temperature in the 20’s. YIKES! Try Vicks vapor Rub on your feet with wool socks. It helps! Nettie pot …I see others are recommending… it really helps. Hope sunshine comes your way next week in more ways than one!
